Ken was born July 29 1951. In Albuquerque, NM. At what was Sandia Army base at the time. He decided at a young age, about 13 or so in 4H, that he wanted to learn leather work. He began asking his parents for a basic leather kit sometime around 1964 when he was middle school age. Upon graduation from Rio Grande High School in 1969, he entered the US Navy where he proudly served for over 20 years. Upon serving on my last two ships, my leather tools accompanied me. I had a captive audience to peddle my wares. Upon retirement in Nov 1990 I decided to attend Oklahoma State University's boot and saddle program and attended the school from Jan 1991 to Aug 1992. I have spent 50 plus years honing my leatherworking craft and have loved every minute of it.
